The State of our Activity

The State of our Activity

How active is your state? Not your present one, the one you live in? Visit http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/mm5232a2.htm to find out where your state ranks in terms of residents who are active or not.

The most active state is Wyoming; the least, Kentucky. The rest of us fall somewhere in between, but too many of us are a long way from meeting the standard recommendation of 30 minutes of moderate exercise five days a week from the American College of Sports Medicine.

The good news is that every state had an increase in active residents between 2000 and 2001, so even though more current stats aren’t available yet, we can hope that this trend has continued.
